Changing the look of this blog is always a great process even when the new layout designs + buttons, are limited in many ways. Pink gaffer tape, love the texture, the richness of color,the width, it tears so easily when you just need a little piece or a longer lean strip and no sticky residue. One of the 3 items I brought back from Amsterdam. Gaffer tape Universally available.It's so surprising at times of the timing when you learn about a product... as i did with gaffer tape... and I have seen it many times before..but it never clicked.

Amsterdam the City is filled with energy, excitement,rudeness and kindness.

As a foreigner you may have to jump left or right on the streets some times because of the criss cross traffic, trams, or being yelled at by bicyclists.But if you are in need of directions or suggestions most Amsterdammers are always willing to help you along in their easy flowing way in more than one language.

When I arrive back in my city,I take a quick shower,couple of hours of sleep, have a snack and off I go walking + renting my bike.

Two essentials that can make your stay in Amsterdam that much more better.

STARBIKE RENTALS behind the Central station, off to the left. People are very kind,their bikes are light in weight super smooth in ride and prices very fair.They even have nice coffee and food.Run by dutch/Australian couple it's nice to support small local over the bigger rental bike companies in Amsterdam.

2. online info about museum card, They are about 50 dollars each but if you are planning to see more than 4 museums it's totally worth it and very easy to obtain. No identification needed when buying + no waiting in line for ticket buying beyond the one time.

This time being home was different,the energy,on the streets after the cold snap started was nostalgic, and the place that can really transcend you back in time is, Amsterdam.Being with family the energy always flows so easily, the jokes are in dutch the food is surinamese, the conversations are vast and the laughter is deep.The gratitude to be with family is at times is so emotional.

My plans to go to Paris and Germany seemed not needed. Transportation was disrupted because of the extreme cold weather. trains were disrupted for many days. The airports were full with cancelled flights.

The magic of the frozen canals hadn't happened since 1997.

hear,see + silence, I was born, tomorrow, 44 years ago, as a little kid I got lost in my little world that was quiet vast, as a teenager I was obnoxious and questioned many things just for sake of, out loud. In my 30 i realized many words that my Mama told me, all these years, are true! In my 40th's i feel in my own world again expansive, open en more humble... Inside all of us is our castle that we only can reach and unlock but often we look for the answers outside however the real answers and questions are inside to be unlocked, by one self. This is where I'm at and the journey continues in silence...

Our kids got an early x-mas present they didn't see coming !!! They each opened an envelop yesterday and saw a ticket!

One was jumping up and down and one was shaking his head. You could feel the energy, the Feeling entered their body and the FEELING was feelable.

Love the search......for products with function,made well, beautiful materials,all the good qualities.After almost 3 years of business I have learned so much, I could have only learned by doing LF STUDIO.I made mistakes,I don't have regrets.

Since I enjoy the search,I too have been reflecting within to make changes to the business. LF STUDIO will have a leaner presence online and that is just how we like it.

Amsterdam is where I was born and raised. Have lived in many different parts of the City. These days I visit Amsterdam to see family and friends & more. I appreciate that there is a direct flight from Seattle (where I live today) to Amsterdam.

When my Mama died almost a year and half ago, very quickly the process became quietly lonely. Their is no blaming here really, just loneliness that makes you wonder and think all kinds of thoughts some darker than others, but the many thoughts, make you walk,stumble thru the process of grief. I personally was not prepared how physical painful it was. The pain literally in your heart is real and aching.
My mom did say towards the end I would become stronger,I know she is right.

Steve Jobs passed away October 5th:Many people around the world find interest in his spoken/written word since his passing.

So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.

Marrakesh is a place that is on my list for 2012.See here the Peacockpavilions.com, a boutique hotel. There are many beautiful reviews of this boutique Hotel on the web. It such a labour of love from the couple that have created this sanctuary for their guests. I get the real sense, that it's the kind of place that will be better than you could have imagined it. It's 13 Kilometers outside of Marrakesh, the perfect set up to enjoy both worlds, the medina/city and the outskirts with all it's beauty too.
